DIPLOMA of EXPERTISE IN ORTHODONTICS AND DENTOFACIAL ORTHOPEDICS

OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this theory/hands-on course are:
- To make up for the deficient education of graduates in Dentistry related to the field of Orthodontics and Orthopedics.
- To train students how to face with necessary conviction and quality the situations which require the treatments of mild and moderate malocclusions.
- To train students in working as a part of an interdisciplinary team, carrying out orthodontic and orthopedic treatments.
The special objectives of this University Expertise Program consist of achieving the specific competences related to orthodontic and orthopedic services.
DESCRIPTION
Through this Course Program, the student will obtain the knowledge necessary to carry out the diagnosis of different malocclusions, both in children and adults, and to carry out the treatment of mild and moderate malocclusions and planning of the post-treatment stability as well as the management of patients after the orthodontic treatment.
LEARNING RESULTS
At the end of this Course Program, the student will be able to:
- Carry out the diagnosis and treatment plan in orthodontics in mild and moderate cases.
- Carry out the orthodontic and orthopedic treatments.
- Carry out the orthodontic part in an interdisciplinary treatment.
DIPLOMA
The student, after finishing the course and passing the subjects required by the Program designed by Athenea Dental Institute and validated by San Jorge University, will obtain the following diplomas:
- Diploma in Expertise in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics with the academic load of 20 ECTS, issued by Athenea Dental Institute
- Título Propio de Postgrado: Experto Universitario en Ortodoncia y Ortopedia Dentofacial with 20 ECTS, validated by San Jorge University.
The course DIPLOMA OF UNIVERSITY EXPERT IN ORTHODONTICS AND DENTOFACIAL ORTHOPEDICS by ATHENEA DENTAL INSTITUTE, is validated by the SAN JORGE University from Zaragoza (Spain).
This course consists of 144 hours of in-classroom classes and 356 hours of independent work, giving a total of 500 hours. The student will obtain 20 ECTS credits.

ADMISSION
The number of places is limited, and they will be allotted by the first book first given system. The registrations received after the completing the available places will be put on waiting list in case of cancellations. The registration fee of those who don’t achieve a place will be paid back in its totality.
CANCELLATION
If a student doesn’t respect the established installments, his admission will be considered cancelled. If a student pays the total of matriculation fees, but he wants to cancel, the following protocol will be followed:
- If the cancellation takes place before the beginning of the academic course, the student will have the right to get the refund of the total amount of what he paid except for 350 euros as long as his seat can be refilled by the admission of other student.
- The student will not have the right to any refund if the cancellation takes place after the beginning of the academic course.
OBSERVATIONS
Theory classes will be held with audiovisual aid. Making photos or total or partial recording of the courses is strictly forbidden.
